Virginia Residency Workshop

On Saturday, July 14, 2007, the Chapter hosted a workshop, "How to Obtain In-State Residency," at the LDS Arlington Building. Joseph Kroupa and Jon Brodegard offered presentations describing their experiences seeking in-state residency status. The workshop was elucidating and encouraging.

Jon's and Joseph's presentations included the documents they used to secure in-state residency, the steps one may take, and synopses and citations of cases, both successfully and unsuccessfully prosecuted, concerning appeals for in-state residency.

Thanks to Joseph and Jon for all their hard work. Workshop handouts are available; email gmujrcls@gmail.com for them.

"The Constitution of the United-States is a great and treasured part of my religion . . .
The distortion of any fundamental principle of our constitutional government
would thus do violence to my religion."
--J. Reuben Clark, Stand Fast By Our Constitution, p. 7.

"And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me. Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land; and as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more of less than this, cometh of evil. I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed; and the law also maketh you free."
--Doctrine & Covenants 98:5-8
